Patriots’ players Rob Gronkowski and Matt Light were photographed living it up after the game. Gronk surely looks 100% here if you ask me.

So even though you can find countless videos of Pats fans bawling post game on the internet, it seems as though the players took the defeat in stride.

It’s hard to determine what is more baffling, Rob Gronkowski jumping around on stage with LMFAO or Matt Light deciding to go shirtless in the club?

These guys look like they learned their moves from Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs partied in LIV nightclub last season after winning their first NBA championship. There are definitely some obvious differences between those two situations. Obviously Mr. Kraft wasn’t popping 10 foot bottles of champagne, Mark Cuban style. The Super Bowl itself was in Indy, which doesn’t give off the same atmosphere as South Beach. But the most notable difference is that they didn’t win.

Try to imagine what Matt Light would’ve done if they would have hoisted the Lombardi trophy.

The moral of the story is no matter what happens on the field, the party must go on!

The 2011 NFL season concluded with another television milestone as Super Bowl XLVI on NBC reached a total audience of 166.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched show in U.S. television history according to The Nielsen Company.

The Giants-Patriots championship game topped the previous record of 162.9 million total viewers set last year (Packers-Steelers in Super Bowl XLV) and marks the fifth consecutive record-setting total audience for the Super Bowl. Super Bowls account for the 21 most-watched programs in history in terms of total audience.

The previous Super Bowl between these two teams (Super Bowl XLII 2/3/08) drew 148.3 million viewers.

In addition, a record average of 111.3 million viewers watched Super Bowl XLVI – topping the previous mark of 111 million for Super Bowl XLV.

The Blue’s salsa sensation, who has become a highly marketable commodity after bursting out with monster season, has announced he has signed with the international talent mega-agency IMG Worldwide.

From the Hollywood Reporter….

With NFL success, comes endorsement deals and other money-making ventures. And so it is that Victor Cruz, a wide receiver for the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants, has just been signed with IMG Worldwide, an agency specializing in sports, fashion and media.

IMG, which also represents Gisele Bunchen, aka Mrs. Tom Brady, announced the Cruz deal the day after his team’s victory against Brady and the New England patriots.

“I’m very pleased to be represented by IMG,” Cruz said in a statement Monday. “They have a great reputation around the world. They have represented some of the most iconic athletes across a myriad of sports and I am honored to be among them.”

Lost in the excitement of huge nights from guys like Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham and Justin Tuck were some key performances by some less heralded guys, without which, the outcome may not have been so super.

Steve Weatherford

The punter is never going to get much publicity, but Weatherford was arguably one of the five most important Giants players in this game. His coffin-corner punting was Jeff Feagles-esque, and after nearly making the Super Bowl the past two seasons, he may have had his best career game last night, pinning the Patriots inside of the 20-yard line three times.

Henry Hynoski and Chris Snee

Recovering fumbles by Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw, respectively. They were in the right place at the right time, but we’ve all seen how hard it can be to just fall on the ball and hold on to it. If not for these two hustle plays, the outcome would have almost certainly been different. The Hynoceros also had a nice catch and run early in the game, breaking a tackle and picking up a first down.

Lawrence Tynes

His long kickoffs helped give the Giants an edge in field position, and he was perfect (barely, but perfect) on his two field goal attempts. From a guy who has missed some easy kicks in his career, that’s all you can ask for.

Bear Pascoe

He was quietly the Giants’ third leading receiver with four receptions for 33 yards. More importantly, he’s on this list for simply staying healthy. After losing Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum during this game, an injury to Pascoe could have derailed Big Blue.

Zak DeOssie

After a brutal day snapping in San Francisco, DeOssie was perfect on all of his snaps. This may seem like setting the bar low, but with the Giants’ history of special teams debacles, this shouldn’t go unnoticed. However, he did incorrectly call tails on the coin toss, the first time the NFC has lost the Super Bowl coin toss since the 1990s.

Chase Blackburn

Because how often do you see a guy wearing a number in the 90s intercept a 40-yard pass. Once a decade?

DJ Ware

He had a 6-yard run and an 8-yard rush on the Giants’ first touchdown drive. That was the extent of his contribution, but 14 yards on a 78-yard scoring drive cannot be overlooked. Side note: I think it’s time for Kevin Gilbride to draw up a new two point conversion play.

Corey Webster

His name was not called often, which is usually a good thing for a cornerback. He only had one tackle, but he broke up a third down pass to Deion Branch that could have put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter.

The Refs

I’ve been hard on them all year, and rightfully so. But in a couple of years, no one will even remember who the head referee was for Super Bowl 46, and that’s a very good thing. The zebras should never be part of the game’s narrative, and the refs called a (mostly) loose game, letting the players play. The holding on Kevin Boothe could have gone either way, and there were about four questionable non-calls that could have been ruled pass interference, but overall the refs did their job and earned their paychecks without being a big part of the story.
