Griese Traded To Tampa Bay

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have acquired quarterback Brian Griese from the Bears in a trade. Griese had spent 2004 and 2005 in Tampa Bay.
Griese is signed through 2010, and he’s due to earn a base salary of $1.4 million this season.
Details of the deal are not yet known but the Chicago Tribune’s football blog writes that the Bears could receive a sixth- or seventh-round draft choice in return.
Griese recorded 10 touchdowns and tossed 1803 yards in 262 attempts last season for the Bears. He led the team after Rex Grossman struggled in the first three games of the 2007 season. Griese lost the starting job to Grossman after sustaining an injury against the Raiders in Week 10. Griese again took the reigns after Grossman injured his knee later in the season.
