Dave thought he might be ready to play last week vs Jacksonville, but his hammy would not allow. Maybe this week….

We had the pleasure of interviewing Giants safety Antrel Rolle this week at the Gotham Comedy club where he was a guest of the 12 Angry Mascots troupe.
Before Antrel hit the stage, a local comedian came on to do a quick set of new material….none other than fellow Queens College alum Jerry Seinfeld!
Listen below for out conversation with Antrel…

Here are some quotes from the past week from both the Giants and the Cowboys’ camps…..
“I can tell you firsthand that he’s got some qualities of organization. He’s got some qualities of leadership. He’s very smart. All of those things are not necessarily different – they’re manifested differently in Jason – but I’ve certainly known him now for many years and know that he’s got some qualities that can get us where we want to go.” – Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on new head coach Jason Garrett.
“So Jason is being asked to change a culture in five days with a team that knows they are out of the playoffs at 1-7. To me, it’s unfair to evaluate anyone in that role. The head coach needs to be able to implement a training schedule, conditioning programs and set the general tone, and that can’t be done in the middle of the season. There’s always a chance he does it, but this is a monumental effort, and I don’t think it’s fair to evaluate him as a head coach based off of it. I think he’s a great head coaching prospect.” - former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman, who was a teammate of Garrett’s and will be providing color of today’s game on FOX.
“Very organized. Very detailed. He laid out the game plan and was clear with where we’re going.” – Cowboys’ All-Pro TE Jason Witten on Garrett.
“I’ve had the opportunity to meet Jason on a number of occasions. I’m always very, very impressed with him as a young man and the way he conducted himself. I knew his dad and the family and I always thought highly of them. I think Jason is in a position where he’s worked with Wade, and Wade has helped him to develop. I think he’ll do a fine job.” – Giants head coach Tom Coughlin on Garrett.
“What we need to do is focus on being great today. Put good days together. Focus on the process and not so much on the results and if we do things the right way, hopefully the habits will develop and the results that we all desire will come.” – Cowboys’ new head coach Jason Garrett on today’s game.

The Giants practiced yesterday at TIMEX gearing up for the 1-7, but suddenly dangerous, Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
C Shaun O’Hara (foot), OL David Diehl (hamstring / hip), FB Madison Hedgecock (hamstring), KR Darius Reynaud and RB Brandon Jacobs (illness) did not practice.
Osi Umenyiora (knee) also did not practice. He rests once a week – usually Wednesdays- to alleviate stress on his knee. OT Will Beatty (foot) was limited and LB Gerris Wilkinson (hand) practiced in full.
It is Veteran’s Day here in the United States. This afternoon, the Giants will host local Wounded Warriors at practice and invite them for lunch in the players’ cafeteria. On Sunday, the Giants will recognize members of all five military branches, including a special pre-game overseas video feed from soldiers.

In training camp, OL Rich Seubert was the odd man out. He was the old hand, the guy who was getting too long in the tooth, yada, yada, yada.
Then one day he showed up with a broken wrist, and the way the coaches were talking, he was headed out the door. The Giants had drafted his heir apparent in Mitch Petrus and Seubert was in danger of becoming a roster casualty.
Or so we thought…..the Giants decided to keep Seubert because C Shaun O’Hara‘s Achilles tendon was playing tricks on him and O’Hara’s backup – Adam Koets – had little game experience.
But he was far from safe. The powers that be wanted Will Beatty to win the LT job and shift David Diehl to left guard, pushing Seubert to the bench. The sharks were circling…..
Things have a weird way of working out in the NFL. Seubert’s stock suddenly began to rise again when Beatty broke his foot in the opening game, shifting Diehl back to tackle, securing Seubert at guard.
Two months later, O’Hara is still limping around and Koets has been lost for the season, tearing his ACL in Seattle last week.
Don’t look now, but guess who the Giants are using at center these days..? Ah, c’mon, you know….
Seubert spoke to reporters today after practice…

Giants’ Safety Antrel Rolle made his weekly radio appearance on WFAN’s Joe and Evan show yesterday.
He’s a little more subdued these days, may I add, but he still speaks his mind….
