Dansby Shows Interest In Giants

by Anthony De Rosa on February 5th, 2009 at 2:17 pm

php48064fe9eb773Tom Rock at Newsday relays an interview with Arizona Cardinals LB Karlos Dansby, who is due to become a free agent later this month. He spoke with John Riggins and Adam Schein on The Sirius Blitz today and said the following:

Adam Schein: “Would you like the opportunity to play in a big market and specifically with the Giants? I’ve heard that the Giants have interest in you. What’s your reaction to that? Would that be a good fit?”

Karlos Dansby: “Oh, that’s a-whole-nother animal, man. Playing in New York? Who wouldn’t want to play in New York? That’s just like playing for the Dallas Cowboys, you know what I’m saying? It’s a big market. You’re going to get an opportunity to be prime time. It’s a huge market. I wouldn’t mind playing in a huge market. I wouldn’t mind at all. It’s a tough situation to be in for me. Like I said, I want to make sure I’m comfortable, my family is comfortable, and everybody’s happy with the situation. Like I said, Arizona is up first. They gave me the first opportunity so they are the first ones I’m going to take a look at.”

Dansby signed a $8mm deal with the Cardinlas last April, which made him one of the top five highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.

Hat tip to Ryan M for bringing this to our attention.

Complaining Cardinals

by Rich Resch on November 25th, 2008 at 5:14 pm

After losing to the Giants on Sunday by a score of 37-29, the Arizona Cardinals filed a complaint with the league. The Cardinals were upset that Brandon Jacobs, who was listed as probable all week, ended up being inactive on game day. Being listed as probable on Saturday night indicates that a player is virtually certain to play, so the Cardinals asked the NFL to look into the matter. Just like on Sunday, the Cardinals continue to try and pick fights after the play is over.

Although my good friend Logic suggests that the Giants would have won by even more if they had their best offensive player, the Cardinals took this as an opportunity to protest. Do they somehow think they would have had a better chance of winning if Jacobs had played? Did opposing pitchers file a complaint with the league when Babe Ruth took the day off? No, they said “good thing I don’t have to face Babe Ruth today.” Maybe the reason the Cards could muster up just 23 rushing yards was because they thought Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson were going to be lining up on defense.

Maybe this explains why I lost a game of HORSE to an eleven year old girl. I thought I was going to be playing Willis Reed, so I psyched myself up for what was sure to be a timeless battle. When I saw that I would be playing against a small child, my body suffered an unexpected letdown, and I lost by a score of HORS-0. We call this the “Horso” complex, and it is my expert opinion that this is what the Cardinals are suffering from.

Does this make the Arizona Cardinals organization the “Bonehead(s) of the Week”? Yes it does.
