“We’re all in,” Rolle said on WFAN on Tuesday. “We’re all on deck, and we’re going to make a run at this thing.”
But Rolle wouldn’t go so far as to speculate on possibly getting another crack at Green Bay in the next round.
“I apologize, but I have to stop you right there,” he said. “I’m not looking that far ahead. I’m just gonna be honest with you, our number one concern — and our only concern at this point — is the Atlanta Falcons.
“And that’s as far as I’m gonna take that conversation.”

Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle said on WFAN that that the Giants were a superior team to the Redskins and would beat them “95 out of 100 times.”
Today, the Giants lost to the Redskins for the second time this season, the first series sweep by Washington over the Giants since 1999.
From CSNWashington:
“I don’t want to say too much,” Rolle told reporters. “But it’s definitely frustrating. It’s definitely frustrating. You know, I said that we were the better team. They beat us twice.”
He shrugged and laughed.
“So, you know, clearly they’re the better team,” Rolle said. “At this moment. We’ve got to get better.”

Antrel Rolle is a Pro Bowl safety playing on a defense that is just dribbling all over itself at the worst times. They began the season as a “bend but don’t break” Tampa-2 and have disintegrated with each game. It has nothing to do with talent. It has to do with cohesiveness and adaptability. They have neither.
“If you are on the same page at the same time and every man holds themselves accountable as far as their assignment, recognition and their adjustments, then we wouldn’t have so many busts and we would not have so many mental errors as there is,” Rolle told reporters today. “I think every man has to hold himself accountable for his own actions and if you take care of yourself, you make the team that much better.”
Although Rolle leads the Giants in tackles, he is still the considered the glue that binds this unit together. When it unravels as it has, he takes the most heat. He is not afraid to deflect that heat towards his teammates, either. Personally, we do not feel he alone is to blame, but since he continues to be the most vocal Giant, he is gaining an unfair reputation as being overrated.
Our colleague Ohm Youngmisuk reports that Rolle is tired of being wrongly depicted in the media and openly challenges teams to throw at him. READ

Antrel Rolle appeared on WFAN today and vowed his Giants would make the playoffs.
“Will we make the playoffs? Without a doubt,” Rolle told Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts today. “Without a doubt. We will be in that postseason. And we all know once you get in the postseason, that record is 0-0-0.”
He is sure the Giants will pick up their game after coming back to life against Green Bay Sunday.
“If we go out there and play with the intensity and emotion and the passion we had this last Sunday, man, those teams are in trouble,” Rolle stated.
Rolle must not have read the injury report. His teammates are dropping like flies. His partner, Kenny Phillips (knee) will not play this Sunday night and DE Dave Tollefson (knee) may not either. Center David Baas (headaches) is sure to be doubtful. DE Osi Umenyiora, a player who Dallas has had difficulty keeping off of Tony Romo is still out.
Antrel is confident his “scrappy” Giants “will find a way to get it done.” He is happy to be back playing safety...”I went back to the position I used to play in the day…”
Rolle could not explain the Giants’ see-saw performance this year. One game up, one game down. He is not the only one that is baffled.
DE Justin Tuck told SNY Insider Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger pretty much the same thing:
“What kept me up was I know the Saints are a great football team but nobody would say the Saints are better than the Packers,” Tuck said on Monday night after signing autographs with three of his teammates at Garden State Plaza in Paramus as part of a holiday toy drive.
“So how did we come out one week and play like we did and then come out this week and play like we did? And two weeks ago play like we did against Philly and go out to San Francisco and have an opportunity to beat them out there?
“I mean, it doesn’t make any sense to me. Do I need to go see a shrink?”

Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle ranted on WFAN with Joe and Evan yesterday morning (click HERE to listen) lamenting about his team’s lackluster performance vs the Eagles this past Sunday night.
“Were we prepared? Yes. Were we ready? No,” said Rolle, who was as passionate as he’s ever been on the radio spot where’s he’s been known to let it all hang out.
“We’re too calm, man. We’re too relaxed come Sunday…we’re too poised,” Rolle said. He was cognizant to be cautious enough not to knock his teammates too much…
“I never made a statement about the toughness of our team. Now, was that toughness displayed Sunday night? I can honestly admit and say that, you know, they were the toughest of the two teams.” He was sure to state that he thought the Giants were the better team overall, though.
“The truth of the matter is, that team is a good team. And I respect the Eagles. … But at the end of the day, do they compare to us? Maybe. Are they better than us? Not at all. That’s the thing that really gets under my skin, you know what I mean? We win as a team and we lose as a team, without a doubt. But give yourself a chance. You know what I mean? That team, there’s no way we should have lost that game Sunday night.”
Rolle would not buy into the “collapse” talk, staying positive but clearly he was upset. He vowed the team would rebound from these back-to-back losses.
“We’re gonna get it. We’re a great team. We are a great football team,” said Rolle. “And that’s why I’m so upset. We’re better than that, man. We’re better than that. And as soon as we all get on the same page and understand and believe that we’re better, you’ll see a better Giants football team.”

The Giants are not falling over themselves believing that the Patriots’ offense consists of QB Tom Brady and WR Wes Welker. There are plenty of capable players on that offense, including veteran Deion Branch and TEs Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Safety Antrel Rolle was asked about the challenge of facing Brady and Co:
“I don’t know about everybody else but I love it. I love going up against the best of the best. It is a true test to see where our defense is and how we view ourselves going up against Tom Brady. It is going to be a good test.”
Rolle was not buying into the fact that Welker, the NFL’s leading receiver, is always open and virtually unstoppable…
“I don’t know how many passes he got this past Sunday. The Pittsburgh defense did a great job on him. He is human at the end of the day. He is a great receiver and you don’t want to take anything away from him but he is human. The game has to be played on Sunday and I will answer more questions after the game.”

Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle drew some heat from critics after he drew a senseless personal foul in Sunday’s game by tearing off the helmet of Eagles’ TE Brent Celek.
“I just had to let them know that I am not a pushover, I am not a punk under any means and sometimes you have to put your foot down,” Rolle said. “It is more of a mental toughness and more of an attitude than anything sometimes.”
OK. We get it. Good thing his manning-up didn’t cost the Giants a game. That being said, the Giants will be going to Arizona this week, where Rolle spent the first five seasons of his career. He vowed not to let his emotions spill over onto the field:
“There’s going to be extra special … you definitely want to go in and give them a show,” Rolle said. “But I am not going to let any emotions take me out of the game or make me even more exhausted than I already will be.”

Giants safety Antrel Rolle was on NY radio yesterday crowing again. New Yorkers have gotten used to Rolle’s rhetoric and now take him with a grain of salt. That does not mean he should be taken lightly, not does it mean he’s not entertaining. If you cover the Giants, he’s a godsend.
Eagles’ QB Michael Vick suffered a concussion in Atlanta Sunday night and is questionable for this week’s game vs the Giants.
“I don’t want any excuses when we go down there and put it to ‘em….I’ve handled DeSean Jackson one-on-one before and I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to do it again.’’
Giants OL Chris Snee was a bit more tactful in his comments:
“I don’t think anybody in here is scared of Michael Vick. We’re not intimidated or afraid. You hate to see anybody get hurt. You always want to take their best shot. Hopefully, he’s out there. I just hope he’s okay. We don’t want to get caught up in who’s playing and who’s not.”

Antrel Rolle expects to be the Giants’ nickel corner this season, according to Zach Berman’s tweet.
Well, that’s one way to fill the hole left by Terrell Thomas’ injury. Rolle at nickel back could be a short-lived experiment, as he’s been primarily a safety since being drafted as a corner out of Miami.
It’s a worth a try though, as it would give the Giants some flexibility if he is able to make a smooth transition. I assume Deon Grant would slide into the vacated safety slot opposite Kenny Phillips in nickel situations.

OK…well as long as no one was injured in the last ten minutes, I think I’m ready to unveil my final roster projection for 2011. We still have two preseason contests to go, but right around now is when the decisions start to become clear. So let’s jump right in with QB.
QB Keeping 2: In 2011, NFL teams now have the luxury of dressing 46 players on game day. This essentially means that the 3rd string QB is no longer an “emergency option.” The Giants have chosen to forgo the 3rd QB all together since 2008, and I’m not so sure that changes this season. Obviously Eli is the number 1, but he heads up a current corps of 4 talented signal callers.
David Carr (first pick ever of the Houston Texans in 2002) is my favorite to win the job, and not just because he is less expensive than the other veteran alternative. Yes he is about 2 million cheaper than Sage Rosenfels, but he is also equally talented and more versatile. Quite frankly, I expected him to win the starting job in San Francisco last year and I still think he will be a starter again in this league before he retires. Rosenfels may also be trade bait for another CB (more later).
I don’t see Ryan Perrilloux, the raw first year player out of LSU/Jacksonville State making the team despite the new accommodation on gamedays for QBs. The roster is too tight in other areas to find room for a project at a position with an established starter.
