Thursday Morning Report: More of the Same
It’s Groundhog Day. Doesn’t this week seem eerily similar to the Bill Murray classic….or is it just me…? Even Tom Coughlin used the word redundancy in his presser on Wednesday….
“I don’t know how any of you could have a question after yesterday, unbelievable. I was OK until that guy came over in the Adventureman suit and the other guy who had the number and leather helmet. Actually, that guy looked pretty good in that helmet. That was a little shaky.”
Here is what you need to know today:
- Both teams will hold morning media sessions and then practice afterward.
- Yesterday, DE Osi Umneyiora missed the mandatory media session, saying he “misunderstood the schedule” and was fined $20k by the NFL.
- Every Giant player on the Giants’ 53-man roster participated in practice – including RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who usually does not practice until Fridays. “I just hope he’s okay tomorrow,’’ Coughlin told NBC’s Peter King.
- The Pats’ Rob Gronkowski (ankle) did not practice again. His status is still ‘day-to-day’ but is expected to be in uniform Sunday night.
- John Parry, a 12-veteran, has been named the referee for Super Bowl XLVI.
Antrel Rolle says there is no more to talk about this week….
“There is nothing that needs to be said at this point. We are here and this is our final resting ground, and our team is going to go out here and be the best team possible this Sunday. Everything that has been said that needs to be said is over and done with. Nothing needs to be said at this point.”
And that’s that.
