Garafolo: Fewell Signed Through 2012

SNY Insider Mike Garafolo of the Star Ledger reports that Giants’ DC Perry Fewell is under contract until the end of next season and will likely return unless he is scooped up as a head coach by another franchise.

“Despite Steve Spagnuolo’s being on the market after his being dismissed as Rams head coach, it appears the Giants are content with Fewell’s performance. The team is ranked 27th in total defense, though the No. 1 seeds in each conference – the Patriots and Packers – are ranked 31st and 32nd, respectively.”

If Fewell can just have more blitz packages and pass rushing then thats all we need to do. STOP playing zone!

I agree…lets some guys get healthy( Goff, Thomas) maybe sign LB FA ..Prince get the rookie jitters outta the way and with less zone and mixing up the rush and more blitzing I would see what Fewell can do another season before writing him off so quick.

The Prince needs to shake the jitters and play like a King NOW !

Spags, who the hell would want that guy? (sarcasm)…. Fewell is garbage…wish there was a way to ditch and sign spags to three year deal.

It should happen, but it won’t, because that’s just not the Giants’ way of doing things. They (management and ownership) are too loyal, many times loyal to a fault. Coughlin should have been gone last year at the latest, and as a result, geniuses like Gilbride and Fewell continue to collect paychecks and pass off mediocrity as outstanding football.

What an upgrade Spags would be. Please don’t let him go to Philly.

Fewell has not had a full contingent. Give him a chance. The Giants defense is now gelling with people coming back from injury.

Injuries aside – even if they win it all, I think Fewell should’ve been fired in favor of Spags or someone else. He better earn it.
