Giants-Jets: Snoopy Bowl Won’t Decide Who is Best

Rex Ryan calls Met Life stadium the home of the Jets. Justin Tuck says will still be seen asGiants StadiumSantonio Holmes and other Jets beg to differ with Tuck. The argument goes on and on and on. The debate as to who owns the town has grown louder in recent years between the Jets, the Giants, and their fans. The reality is, who cares? Both have more important issues and teams to deal with than each other.

Someone tell Rex Ryan they have to actually sell games out for that.  Until, like the Giants, the Jets don’t need to produce commercials to try to sell tickets, it’s Giants Stadium!

General rule of thumb is the side that makes the most noise about whose town it is does so because they know its not their town.  If it were a Jets town, they wouldn’t need to talk about how its a Jets town.

All this game will decide is who gets cut and who goes to IR.  I guarantee that there isn’t a Giant player, coach, or executive that will put winning this game as the top priority.  Ditto most Giant fans.  But judging from what I’ve read on a couple of other blogs, the outcome of this game seems to be very important to the self-image of Jet fans.  Like Kenny said here, its basically the down-trodden neighborhood dog desperately trying to pee on his corner fire hydrant, thinking that ALONE will make it his own.  Like we say here in CA, “shhh-as if!”

The Giants have gone to 3 Superbowls and won 2.  The Jets haven’t gone to a Superbowl since the 60′s.  Enough said.

They talk to much for a team that hasnt won a championship in over 40 years, and when you look at it, they have shown they cant win the big game multiple times.

Could not disagree more… First of all, they talk as if they are one of NFL’s hottest teams which they have been.  That and their 4 and 2 record in the playoffs over teh past 2 years, including beating San Diego, Indianapolis, and New England in their own yards, would indicate that they are a team that can win big games.
