More on Brandon Jacobs…

During Thursday night’s telecast on WNBC/Ch. 4, Bob Papa and Carl Banks found it a bit odd that on his first two touches of the game, Brandon Jacobs did not run the football. They weren’t the only ones who were caught off guard. It seems Jacobs had a similar reaction.

Jacobs did not have a carry Thursday night (he did catch a six-yard pass), and Ahmad Bradshaw, who started the game in the backfield, has taken over the starting job. After the game Jacobs said it was “hard to stay positive.”

“No one’s your friend in this business,” Jacobs told ESPN New York. “This is a cutthroat, backstabbing business. That’s just the way it goes. It’s been like that before me. If you expect anything else out of a business like this, you’re crazy.

“If I would have stayed making minimum (Jacobs signed a four-year, $25 million contract extension after the 2008 season), this wouldn’t be a problem. Once you get paid, you’re always in danger of running into problems like this. It doesn’t matter who you are or what team or organization you play for, that’s just the way it is.”
