NY Giants Go Through Motions vs. Ravens

by Craig Santucci on August 29th, 2010 at 1:27 pm

Unprepared, understaffed, under-pressure and uncertain this NY Giants team has what it takes.   Now, I love a year when the NY Giants are flying below the radar.   I love a year when the “big mouth” Jets are telling the world how great they are; however, 2010 is starting to concern the Big Blue.

Injuries – 5 players key players came into camp recovering from recent surgery and at least 10 more have been injured this camp.  The offensive line is fragmented and the 2nd team defensive backs look, well….overwhelmed!

Rosters – how do you shape a roster when the team never addressed the back up QB position.   Sorgi is basically an unknown player and now that he is hurt we may just continue the season with Bomar as the #2.  NY Giant fans do not want Bomar as the back up to Eli Manning.

Yes, the kid has potential; however, we are not in the mode of rebuilding and grooming a backup QB.  Reese should have signed a legit, veteran in the off season.  Instead…now a position that normally seems insignificant and is considered news only when your QB has blood gushing down his face are we concerned.

This position now hinges the 53 man roster.  Can anyone get a message to Jeff Garcia or a soon to be cut Titans QB, so we can stop fooling around.

Tampa Two?   I don’t care what they called it but right now it stinks.   The middle of the field looks like the “forgotten” zone as running backs and wide receivers run dig routes across the field with no one around them.  It’s only matter of time before the NY Giants upcoming opponents see those game films and figure out no one is home.

Passion – for the love of Giants football can a player just run someone over!  Can some trying to earn a spot flat our clean someone’s clock!   Love him or hate…I will never forget Jermey Shockey’s rookie pre-season.   He wanted to show the world he came to play and he did.  On two occasions he took a 12 yard seem pass and straight up ran over oppossing players!  That was NY Giants football.

Watching the NY Giants play the Ravens…I fell asleep with the lack luster play.
