Thursday Practice Roundup

by John Fennelly on August 19th, 2010 at 6:57 pm

The Giants held their final formal practice of training camp this afternoon in Albany.  There will be a walk- thru tomorrow morning at 9:45.

Several players were still held out: WR Ramses Barden (back), LB Chase Blackburn (knee), OG Chris Snee (knee), S Michael Johnson (back).

The Rhett Bomar Era, as short-lived as it will be, began today.  New arrival Dom Randolph also took some snaps. Both quarterbacks looked impressive at times.

Some observations…..

Ralph Vacchiano, NY Daily News

“S Kenny Phillips (knee) and LB Keith Bulluck (knee) will play Sat. night. So will WR Steve Smith (groin) and CB Corey Webster (glute).”

“WR Ramses Barden could be out a while, according to Tom Coughlin, with those unspecific “back issues”"

Mike Garafolo, SNY / The Star Ledger

“Phillips just dropped an INT. Started doing pushups as punishment (Willie Mays Hayes style). Rolle ran over to lean on him.”

“Tynes 4-4 including a camp long of 52 yards….Dodge just kicked a bunch of end-over-end punts on purpose. Wondering if that’s his experiment with pooch/directional punts.”
