Romo: “We’re Desperate, Too”

The Giants are being painted by fans and the media as a desperate football club. That does not phase Dallas QB Tony Romo one bit, though.  He’s been in enough NFC East battles to know not to fall into any traps.

“We are a desperate team, too. This is a very big game for us. We have to play sound and good football to win.”  He’s right.  The Giants are finally making the long-awaited adjustments we’ve been clamoring for.  This Sunday’s game at the Meadowlands promises to be a close one.

Barber, Witten Will Play; Hamlin, Colombo Will Not

Cowboys’ RB Marion Barber, who sliced up the Giants for 124 yards in Week 2, will be active Sunday but is expected to see action. Barber has a fractured thumb and although he had 20 carries for 99 yards two weeks ago vs the Redskins, the thumb has limited him for most of the season.

Another Giant killer, TE Jason Witten, hurt his foot in that Washington game, but is said to be close to 100 percent.

OT Marc Colombo is likely out for the remainder of the regular season with a broken leg. His replacement, Doug Free, has been playing well in Columbo’s absence but the Giants will be sure to try to overload him this week.

S Ken Hamlin will most likely not play Sunday. He has been hampered by a sprained ankle. The Giants will also be sure to test his stand-in, Alan Ball (not the creator of Six Feet Under).
