Read: Ya Gotta Have Heart

By Jon Schneider on Dec 03, 2009, 1:50 pm

In an article by Tim Smith of NYDailyNews.com, he cites this Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys as a true test of the amount of heart this Giants team has.

As Tim mentions in his article, the Giants showed virtually know pulse during their latest defeat to the Broncos. In a game that followed a huge overtime win against a wild-card competitor, the Giants came out at Invesco truly flat-footed. (or maybe just flat-lined)

With that loss, the Giants are a little more desperate, as the month of December demands wins more than any other.

Smith, like many other writers and observers, tend to think now that it is not the skill-level or the talent on this team that is bringing them down, but the heart and the desire to win simply not being there as much as it should.

Even our very own Michael Strahan has been quoted saying the team lacks heart and leadership. With perhaps the most vocal leader of the team out in Antonio Pierce, someone…anyone needs to step up and grab the torch.

I almost feel like they’ve forgot what it means to “leave everything on the field.” Fortunately, I believe the heart this Giant team had and has for that matter could be easily attained again.

This Sunday, with the first of two home games against two NFC east teams, the Giants need to find that heart and soul that they’ve been missing for the last 5 weeks.

There’s no doubt in my mind that on any given Sunday, this Giant team could beat any team in this league.

All they gotta do is LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FIELD.

With that said, I will leave you with this all to fitting video from my personal favorite movie “Any Given Sunday.”

Its a Game of Inches.
