News and Notes

RB Ahmad Bradshaw is still in a boot and doctors have not yet cleared him to play. The Giants are hoping he can be cleared by Sunday, because backup Danny (thats DJ to you) Ware suffered a concussion on Thanksgiving, and the only other back on the roster is Gartrell Johnson.

In the wake of Antonio Pierce being put on IR, the Giants have signed LB Kenny Ingram to the practice squad. Ingram 6’6” 229 was with the Giants in the pre-season and was attempting to make the switch from Safety to Linebacker. While Ingram showed potential he was still one of the final cuts made by Big Blue. Sha’reff Rashad and Vince Anderson are candidates to be signed off of the practice squad, according to sources both players have been steadily improving and g-d knows the Giants could use help at Safety. Safety Anthony Scirrotto, who was signed last week, was cut to make room for Ingram.

The Giants tried out two kickers yesterday, Graham Gano and Steve Hauschka. The two battled for the Ravens job and Hauschka won out, but was cut 2 weeks ago after goind 9 for 13 on field goals. After the workout neither player was signed. This comes on the heels of a positive performance from Lawrence Tynes which included a 53 yarder in Denver. Most likely the Giants simply called the players in because they had the extra time, but as usual Tynes is on the hot seat. I’ve said it before but the guy is great in the clutch, but 4 missed inside 40 is just bad.

Antonio Pierce expects to be back next year. “I don’t see why I wouldn’t be there,” Pierce said on Sirius radio “This was a season that got cut short by injury that shocked all of us — management, coaches and players. With everything I gave New York the past five years, I feel I’ll be here.”

Thats all good, but the fact is Pierce is 31, he is injured, and he has lost a step, it doesn’t bode well for his future. The Question is, do the Giants have a replacement in Jonathan Goff?

And totally unrelated, ESPN is reporting that local police have determined that Woods was at fault for his one man car accident.

How the hell is that a serious report? Who else is at fault in a one car accident? Excellent investigating, I wonder if ESPN was considered for the role of Sherlock Holmes before they cast Robert Downey JR.

Agreed jmc47 but even if you were attacked by a fire hyrdant or rogue tree i still think it would be your fault. On the other hand, when I was 7 I was attacked by a goose, that sh%t was the gooses fault…investigation over.
