Questions for the Reader/ Readers?

By David Jacks on Nov 21, 2009, 7:39 pm

1) If Kevin Gilbride leaves after the year to take the Buffalo job (or any other) and Charlie Weis is let go from Notre Dame would you want him as Big Blues offensive coordinator?

2) If the Giants were in the same spot as New England last week, with a 4th and 2, would you have gone for it, or let Feagles punt?

3) You have one play in the NFL, what position are you playing and what is the play? You are on your own 40 yard line and you can play defense or offense.

4) Name your favorite current and all time Giant.

5) Name your least favorite current and all time Giant (CC is going to get worn out)

6) Which rival do you hate the most?

7) Name your all time Giant coaching staff. 2 Coordinators and a coach will do.

8) Not a question, just a statement. LT was arrested early last week for BEING AWESOME, thats it, no more discussion, he was just too AWESOME!

9) If you hold a grudge against Tiki Barber, have you let it go?

10) Who is your favorite Giantsfootballblog writer? Big John don’t screw this up or I will cut off your jack supply.

    1) Sure, I’d take Weis, but I really don’t know the alternatives.

    2) With Feagles? Punt. I was amazed at the call last week. But if they punted, I think Manning beats them anyway, so why not.

    3) I would want to be a receiver who receives the pitch of a Hook and Ladder play along the right sideline.

    4) Hmm, my favorite current Giant. I’ve thought about this recently. I don’t have a Giants jersey, and if I were to get one, it would probably be Osi, but that would just be because Manning would be cliche. So…maybe Osi. All-Time? ooh, embarrassing. It actually used to be Dave Meggett. I am (was?) small and quick, and he proved to me that you didn’t need size if you had speed. But since his legal trouble…i’d have to go with a clean guy, with no legal issues whatsoever. Lawrence Taylor. Tiki is up there as well.

    5) Least favorite current Giant would be CC Brown/Rouse, but that could be soon replaced by someone else. Thank goodness we don’t have one of those egotistical wide receivers. But since you called out CC in the post, I’ll go with..Tynes? Oh, and Pierce’s gut.

    6) Eagles. Used to be the Cowboys most definitely, but my in-laws are from Philly, so they are enemy number 1 now and will be until they are at the bottom of the NFC East and the Cowboys are still good. Bah the Phillies too.

    7) This one is interesting. Parcells I guess. Spags, and Offensive? eh, Tom Coughlin tomorrow?

    8) Agreed, see #4

    9) I never had a grudge against Tiki, Tiki was the Man.

    10) Anthony De Rosa? What happened there? Corporate site kicking the little man down? As of now. Mr. Jacks, since you respond and include my name in some posts, gotta give the little man pride! Also, Resch ain’t bad. Worst? Jon Schneider, who cares about the REST of the NFC East..pfft…losers….

    SHJ FTW!

    1. Yes, I think Charlie Weis is a very good Offensive Coordinator who did wonders with Tom Brady. I think that he could get Eli, as well as our offense, to that next level we have not yet reached.

    2. I would have absolutely let Feagles punt the ball. At this point in the season I do not have faith in our offense to get the 2 yards needed on that play. Nor do I have any faith in our defense to stop Peyton Manning from going 28 yards.

    3. I would be the Nose Tackle on a 4th and 10 with 1 minute left in the Superbowl with my team up 27-25. Trying to pressure the opposing QB for the sack to win the game. We do a simple 4 man rush dropping 7.

    4. Favorite current Giant is Eli Manning. I don’t think I would want any other QB that came out of that draft class and I think we got the perfect guy to play in NY both talent and personality wise. All time Giant like probably a lot of other people is LT. He changed the line backing position as well as the NFL forever and we are all forever indebted to him for that.

    5. It may be a surprise but my least favorite current Giant is AP. I know this guy is the so called leader of this defense but I feel every time I see AP he is getting out run by a RB on a route or picking the wrong hole to stuff the RB. Yes he puts our defensive guys in the right positions pre-snap but after the snap I feel he is a liability. Least favorite all time has to be Dave Brown. I hated watching this guy play QB. I remember one time he screwed up spiking the ball to stop the clock and we lost the game because of it. I mean really Dave? Really?

    6. I absolutely despise the Filthidephia Iggles. I grew up in Central Jersey and went to College to play football in Bethlehem, PA and going to college for 4 years in Iggle country really makes you despise the Iggles and their fans. But you always have that conversation ender when talking to a Philthy fan which is “Oh yea well how many Superbowl rings do you guys have? Because I have 3″

    7. All time coaching staff has to be Head Coach Bill” The Tuna” Parcells. I will go with Bill Belichick at Defensive Coordinator and Sean Payton as Offensive Coordinator.

    8. Yayyy LT!!!

    9. I had a grudge against Tiki when he fumbled 4 times a game, then he fixed that, and then he left and we won a Superbowl sooo I have NO grudge against Tiki Barber.

    10. Of course it is you D. Jacks!!! The best/funniest Giantsfootballblog writer there is. You are the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be(Cue Brett “The Hitman” Hart Music)

    As Always….GO BIG BLUE!!!!

BTW Anyone going to be at the Carolina Panthers game on December 27?? I just got tickets from my friend and I will be there tailgating with a bunch of people. Giantsfootballblog tailgate anyone???

    1. Yes I would definitely take Weis

    2. Of course I punt. I would never diss our D like that. Punt the ball and put it in their hands.

    3. Punter , and I put it out of bounds inside the 5…I don’t think I could handle an hit from any NFL player but if I did get hit at least it would be a penalty

    4. My current favorite would be Steve Smith…always coming through with a big catch on third down. I do like Tuck and Osi a lot but Smith edges it out. I feel like my thunder was taken on my all time favorite with both Meggett and LT so I think I am going to have to say Jason Sehorn…favorite backup is Danny Kanell

    5. Least favorite is Tynes, he always manages to miss easy field goals and I never feel confident when he is out there…plus, I feel like his kickoffs never result in touchbacks. Of all time, I would have to go with Dave Brown

    6. I hate the Eagles the most. I think being a Mets fan helps place them on top because I hate the Phillies so much too.

    7. Parcells as head coach, Spags barely beats out John Fox for defense, and offensive coordinator would be Vince Lombardi

    8. Sounds about right

    9. Never liked Tiki, but no grudge, especially after winning the SB the year after he retired

    10. I’m not participating in this question…only leads to jealousy….

    1. Yes to Weis… I’ve been asking for it for months. He’s from NJ, coached with the Giants…. Obviously he might not be head coach material, but that doesn’t make him a bad offensive coordinator. Even if Gilbride doesn’t get the Buffalo job, if Weis becomes available, they need to get him to coach the offense.

    2. I’d punt it every single time (unless the punter was hurt or the refs were on the take). Colts may still have won the game, but at least it wouldn’t have been as easy as it was.

    3. I’d be the place kicker and nail a 77 yard field goal to win the Super Bowl… (You never said it has to be realistic)

    4. Favorite current Giants is Justin Tuck… Favorite all-time Giant is the obvious LT. I have happy dreams of his hit on Joe Thiesman.

    5. Least favorite current Giants – Lawrence Tynes – can we get a new kicker? Least favorite all-time Giant – Ray Handley. Not a player, but damn he sucked.

    6. Dallas Cowgirls…. I hate the Eagles too, but I can respect them a bit, but not the Cowgirls with their owner and now their stadium and the motto of ‘America’s Team.’ F-That!

    7. Bill Parcells as HC, Steve Spagnuolo as DC and Sean Payton as OC… Only two coordinators that actually thought outside of the box often enough.

    8. And he’ll get life because of his Awesomeness.

    9. No grudge against Tiki. He threw his teammates under a bus, but they showed him after he left… He was a very good RB for the team.

    10. It’s gotta be David Jacks…. I like dry whit.

    1) I would definetely consider him. He might not pan out to much as HC or recruiter, but he has demonstrated he can be an OC.

    2) Punt… although the way Feagles has been punting, they probably still would have started in Giants territory afterwards

    3) WR, running a deep post… and seeing only CC Brown standing between me and end zone with the ball headed my way…

    4) All time – Phil Simms; Current – Justin Tuck

    5) Current – Sinorice Moss, totally useless and huge draft bust (CC was never brought in to be a starter or play like one); All time – every first round draft pick from Eric Moore to William Joseph (expect for Rodney Hampton and Ike Hilliard)

    6) No rival truly hits the pure ‘hate’ mark… unless you throw in the organization at large and fanbase, and Cowboys make it as 1, 2 and 3…

    7) HC – Parcells, OC – Payton, DC – Belichik

    8) ‘k

    9) I don’t… it was more dissapointment than anything

    10) David Jacks, just for threating a reader

    1) Absolutely. Weis has been a very good coordinator in his career and I would imagine he and Tom have a good working relationship from their years together as coaches under Parcells.

    2) Punt. I’ve never seen a call like the one Belichick pulled last week.

    3) Uh…

    4) Current: Eli Manning and Justin Tuck (tie). All-Time: Strahan

    5) Current: CC Brown. All-Time:

    6) Eagles

    7) Head Coach: Parcells. Defensive Coordinator: Bill Belichick. Offensive Coordinator: Vince Lombardi

    9) I still like and respect Tiki as a player, but his shot against Eli as a reporter was uncalled for and he was basically trying to make a name for himself. Very unprofessional. I dont mind him at all though.

    10) Some guy named David Jacks, you may know him, Im not sure.

My least favorite Giant fo all time is Ron Dayne btw. You want to see a big man tip toe at the line? Watch some of his tape in the NFL. Brandon Jacobs is everything Ron Dayne was supposed to be, and for that I love him forever.
