Philadelphia Eagles: A lot of guys on the injury report for tomorrow’s matchup between the Eagles and the Chargers. For the Birds, it looks as though they will have their starting RB back in Brian Westbrook. He is listed as probable as of now and after missing two straight games from a concussion injury, it looks like he will get his reps come Sunday.
For the Chargers, the linebacking core of Shawne Merriman Shaun Phillips and Tim Dobbins are all listed on the injury report as questionable (which is potentially great news for Westrbrook). All three of hte LB’s missed practice on Friday and it is unclear as to whether or not they’re going to play come Sunday. Chargers C Nick Hardwick also missed practice on Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game.
Dallas Cowboys: Explosive backup RB Felix Jones wants to get more touches, and the Cowboys may start giving them to him. Jones has been off and on the injury report off year with a knee injury and in the three games since his return he has totaled 20 carries for 86 yards as well as three catches for 36 yards.
“I want to go out there and contribute to the team as much as I can,” Jones said Friday. “I’ll be a cheerleader if I have to. Whatever it takes to get that ‘W’ at the end of the game is good for me.”
I personally believe Felix Jones is a top 5 talent in terms of RB in the league. He just doesn’t get the touches he deserves. No knock on Marion Barber, Tashard Choice, or even Wade Phillips for that matter for not playing him. There’s nothing wrong with easing a player back who’s coming off an injury.
Washington Redskins: In an article on the Washington Times, Jon Fogg grades the chances of the Washington Redskins winning another single game throughout the rest of the season. the upcoming schedule for the ‘Skins includes Denver, Dallas, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Oakland, Giants, Cowboys, and Chargers.
The only team Fogg gives the ‘Skins a chance against is the Raiders, which I tend to agree with. They’re are not a good team, and that schedule seen above certainly does not help. I think Mr. Snyder already has his eyes on that top draft pick and possibly Sam Bradford.
