Read: Redskins Lose Again, SNF
...posted by Jon Schneider...
Another week and another loss for the Washington Redskins. Although they did show some life in the beginning of the second half, ultimately they were truly no match for a solid Atlanta Falcons team. After coming back down 24-3 with two touchdowns to cut it to just seven points, RB Michael Turner did his best sharade of Barry Sanders, as he broke off his second long TD run of the day to put the Falcons up by two scores.
The Redskins have the worst offensive line in football. the quarterback was sacked five times and hit eight times…and that’s not even including tipped balls and QB hurries. To top it all off, Clinton Portis left the game in the first half! it’s a team dessimated by injuries…and bad attitude.
Any-whom, onto the game that actually matters….Eagles-Cowboys

Regardless of the loss, this game is still pretty important to the Gmen and Giant fans alike. Because it’s the second half of the season, one can say it’s not too early to start looking at the divisional and playoff races. With this recent Giants losing streak, we have to look at this game and actually root for a certain team to win…which is the ‘Boys obviously.
I see this one being a close one, as the winner will take a one game lead over the other in the NFC east and a full two game lead over the Giants. As I said before, it would be more advantageous for the Cowboys to have that lead at this point, as the Giants will take any help they could get.
Look for the Cowboys to try to get Jason Witten involved right away. The Eagles have been letting opposing TE’s average over 100 yards per game over the last four games, and have allowed 5 TD’s as well in that period. SLB Chris Gocong is out for this game, which does not bode well for the Birds’ defense. The good news is, new acquisition LB Will Witherspoon did look to pick up the schemes pretty quick, and should be able to continue to step in nicely in the linebacking core.
Expect the Miles Austin dream run to perhaps hit a little bit of a hickup tonight. The Eagles do have one of the best cover corner tandems in the league in Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown. Whether it’s the former or the latter covering the young Monmouth alum, he will have his work cut out for him.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles offense will be without starting RB Brian Westrbrook. The Cowboys have been performing particularly well in stopping the run over their current 3-game win streak holding Michael Turner to just 58 yards as well as halting both Larry Johnson and Julius Jones to subpar games.
Rook LeSean McCoy will start in place of the injured Westbrook, and he certainly has his work cut out for him.
With regards to McNabb, expect a somewhat big day in my opinion. The Cowboys are 20th in the NFL in pass defense and it seems as though McNabb and his crop of legitimate young WR talent are really starting to click on all cylinders.
I’m not sure If I see an offensive shootout or a defensive game, but I see the Eagles pulling this one out at home in a close one. I’m going to say 21-17 Birds.
Happy SNF everyone.
