BYE BYE CC.

According to Ralph Vacchiano the Giants have replaced Safety CC Brown with reserve safety Aaron Rouse on the first unit. Rouse was claimed off of waivers from the Green Bay Packers on September 24th.

GOOD NEWS

CC Brown has been the whipping boy for Giant fans and analyst’s alike.

CC admitted to playing his “own coverage” on the  DeSean Jackson TD last week.

CC has lived up to Chris Collinsworth’s nickname “Can’t Cover.”

Michael Boley practiced with the first unit and should be able to help in coverage no matter who is back at safety.

BAD NEWS

Aaron Rouse was put on waivers by the Packers for a reason.

Rouse, like CC , is known as an in the box safety who lacks cover skills (uggh).

If this move doesn’t work there is no other option, the Giants have only three safeties on the active roster. The only chance to move a corner to safety (something that hasn’t happened in practice yet) is if Aaron Ross comes back from injury. Ross may be able to get back after the bye.

Coughlin said this about Rouse “still trying to fully understand what is expected and what the new language of our defense is and what his responsibilities are.”

Isn’t everyone on the defense in this boat? No matter what CC will no longer be the whipping boy, welcome to big blue Aaron Rouse, no pressure.
