Manning Wisely Takes the Blame, Says Foot Feels “Great”

In the press conference following Sunday’s 40-17 disaster in Philadelphia, Giants quarterback Eli Manning made it clear to reporters that his foot is healed and the injury that knocked him out of a game against the Chiefs earlier this season is not to blame for his recent struggles.

“It feels great, I’m not taping it or anything anymore. It’s not the problem,”

Manning’s statistics have clearly taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks after he started the season by throwing ten touchdowns and only two interceptions in the first five weeks. In the past two weeks alone, Manning has thrown only two touchdowns and five interceptions.

Eli is pretty smart about laying low with the New York media. He is already a quiet guy and knows what kinds of stories they can spin, so it makes sense that he shrugs off the idea that the injury is lingering and instead blames his own play. His attitude is a perfect fit for this team considering the fact that it doesn’t take much for the media to give the wrong impression if something controversial is even mumbled.
