Philadelphia Eagles: Both coach Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Sean McDermott have confirmed that regardless of safety Macho Harris’ health next week, safety Sean Jones will start in place of him. Jones recorded 5 solo tackles against the ailing Giants yesterday and was a key component in the Birds dominance yesterday.
Also, the Eagles offensive line played surprisingly well against the Giants and their pass rush attack. Although the Gmen did manage two sacks and two fumbles from McNabb, it seemed that whenever he needed time time the most, he had it.
Three straight losses to three good teams for the Gmen. With this loss the Giants find themselves now a half game behind both the Cowboys and Eagles…and a bye week would certainly be pretty nice.
Dallas Cowboys: Although he did end up finding the end zone for the first time since the season opener, Wade Phillips has acknowledged that his QB and number one WR are not on the same page.
“Roy and Tony are not on the same page,” Phillips said. “They’re getting closer. They talk to each other afterward, but a couple of times, Tony thought he was going to go here and he went there and vice versa. We’ve just got to keep working at that.”
Although the chemistry seems to be messed up between Tony and Roy, there doesn’t seem to be any problem between him and his new best friend Miles Austin. The TD catch he had in yesterday’s win over the Seahawks couldn’t have been thrown in a more perfect spot…and Austin found that tiny little hole between three defenders.
Washington Redskins The ‘Skins got a much needed bye this week, especially since the next three games they have won’t be easy. In the next three weeks, Washington will be traveling to Atlanta, home against the Broncos, and then all the way to Dallas for a divisional bout against the Cowboys. An ailing offensive line just received word that it will be without perennial pro-bowler Chris Samuels for the rest of the year. LB H.B. Blades and CB Byron Westbrook are both likely out next week as well while recovering from knee surgery.
