Giants Disorganized and Uninspired in Embarrassing 1st Half vs Eagles

After two weeks of facing top competition, you would think the Giants would have amped up their effort for today’s showdown in Philly.

Think again.

The offense cannot drive the football and the quarterback is throwing dying quails.  Its as if the Eagles have the Giants playbook. Pathetic.

The defense cannot stop any sort of forward pass. On third and goal from the 20, the Giants were in their prevent defense. The Eagles scored on the one play the formation was designed to stop: a pass down the center of the field.

After the Giants managed to score to cut the Eagles lead to 16-7 inside the 2:00 warning, they allowed two touchdowns before the half to go down 30-7 at the gun.

The Eagles just opened the second half with a drive that ended with David Akers kicking a 35-yard FG.

Time to shut off the game and do something else, maybe.

Well, at least we don’t have to worry ourselves anymore with the illusion that the Giants are a playoff team.

  • Steal Home Jose!

The sad part is that I think they ARE a playoff team. I usually don’t do lists like this, but In order for that to happen (off the top of my head):

    1) someone needs to step up NOW and replace CC Brown (I sure hope Ken Phillips really needed to be IR’d). COME ON ROSS, Aaron Rouse is no Aaron Ross.

    2) Pierce needs to lose 10 pounds

    3) Deactivate Senorice Moss (we could have had Santonio Holmes, but NO, we had to trade down 5 or so spots and take Moss instead, who else did we get with that trade down anyway?)

    4) Run no huddle, always. Get Eli his confidence back

    5) Fire Gilbride? Let Coughlin call the plays.

    6) Start Nicks, he gets the ball and doesn’t go down easy.

    7) Win-out at home.

    8) Win-out on the road

    9) Stop kicking (or attempting) field goals when you know you need touchdowns to stay in the game

    10) Special Teams needs to step up.

    11) …Win the NFC East (probably a better bet than #7 or #8)

    • BigRB

Don’t forget to add kidnapping Steve Spagnuolo that list

Seriously, they are playing soooo flat it’s embarrassing. Big play after Big play.

      Cut CC Brown right now.

I know it’s probably been said before, but we’re all agreed CC stands for “Can’t Cover”, right?
