The experts picks are in and it’s official, the Giants, like Rodney Dangerfield, get NO RESPECT. 8 out of 10 ESPN analysts agree the Saints will be victorious, 30 Helens agree. Even ESPN’s “accuscore,” a computer program that determines the game based on mathematics only a trekkie could understand picked the Saints. Over at NFL.com all three so called experts picked the Saints to win. Of course two of those experts are Sterling Sharpe and Joe Theismann which makes you wonder about the term expert. I think the girl in the office who wins your NCAA March Madness pool by picking teams based on colors and scarier animals is just as much an expert as these two. Nope I take it back, that girl knows far more.
Pat Kirwan at cbssports.com picks the Saints as well, but why Pat, why? “I would choose either team based on the home field advantage.”
Absolutely reasonable, except for this one glaring issue, the Giants have now won 18 of their last 21 road games. You might say they are “ROAD WARRIORS,” have you heard this term Pat? You might even say they are better on the road, they thrive off of the 70,000 lunatics cheering against them. Oh and Eli Manning is now 6-1 in dome stadiums and he is 31-9 in his last 40 games period…but probably not a factor.
At yahoosports.com ,if you can sit through the horror that is their video picks, you will find out that only 2 of the four experts pick the game (Michael Silver and Charles Robinson) and shockingly they both pick the Saints.
As I said earlier in the week I have no idea why the Giants bother to show, why not just get rested for the following week? And then I am reminded of a similar game, played against a similar offense, with similar expert picks. I remember that Eli (who clearly doesn’t deserve over 100 million) has ice water running through his veins (that’s gotta hurt by the way) and is never phased by the big game. I remember that Tom Coughlin has lost games in the NFL but never showS up unprepared. I remember that the Giants boast the best defense in the NFL. I remember Steve Smith, not Jeremy Shockey or Reggie Bush, leads the league in receiving yards. I remember that 18-3 on the road is the best record in the NFL over that 3 year span. I remember an offensive line that shows up each and every game (36 straight) to keep Eli’s uniform clean. I remember that although the papers, the analysts and the fans like whats hot, “consistency” and “team” matters more then anything. And then I remember why it’s good to be a fan of BIG BLUE.
My pick – THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS over the New Orleans Saints.

I concur….Now it’s time to go drink til we can’t feel feelings anymore…..
GO BIG BLUE!!!!
Go G-Men!
No respect from a top ranked, 5-0 team… I love it! Go NYG!
Not that we are biased or anything ;-)
That picture is fantastic!
I love Dangerfield, I celebrate the man’s entire catalog.
