I don't understand why we can't just start Carr and have Eli be the backup? This is presuming Eli is healthy enough to start but if he is why not just have Eli "waiting in the wings" so to speak if things go badly against the Raiders. We can start Carr and see what he can do and if we are winning and taking care of business like we should then we leave Carr in. If we fall behind or Carr is just doing that awful then we put Eli in. I guess this gets a little sticky if the game is close(Giants up 3-7 points) do you leave Carr in? Do you put Eli in hoping to extend the lead? Brian makes a good point that if Eli is not healthy enough we have to add a QB to the roster because we do not have a backup.

If Eli Manning is healthy enought to play, he will start right? The Giants wouldn't have him be the backup QB, presumably. If Manning's status is as up in the air as we all think it is than the Giants have to make a roster move to insure themselves in case he can not play. David Carr is the only other QB on the roster. Who would be the backup if Carr started? Jeff Feagles? (Probably) As far as I'm concerned, Manning cannot be a gametime decision until the Giants add another QB to the roster.
