Philadelphia Eagles: The Philadelphia Eagles have “tried out” 32-year-old linebacker and former Eagle Jeremiah Trotter. The linebacker hasn’t played since 2007 but reportedly is urging the Eagles that he wants to and can still play at a high enough level.
Trotter was a good player for the birds for a long time but I distinctly remember his play towards the end of his “career” and he was at least 2 steps slower. I’m not saying he can’t contribute, because I think he can, but I do not think the Eagles or Eagles fans should expect anything monumental. His football acumen alone should make him at least a worthy substitute.
Washington Redskins: The Redskins are really feeling the heat from losing starting RG Randy Thomas. At this point, coach Jim Zorn still is unsure as to who will fill his spot for Sunday’s game against the Lions. Right now, it’s between Will Montgomery (filled in for Thomas last week) ad Chad Rinehart who has never seen the turf for a regular season game.
Also, former Redskins great Joe Theismann said on Sirius radio that the Redskins are “prime pickings” for an upset in Detroit.
Joe, I do not disagree..
Dallas Cowboys: Matt Mosley wrote at 2:13 p.m. today that Marion Barber III will practice today. In fact, Barber was on the field yesterday for and reportedly looked much healthier than expected giving a “thumbs up” the the crowd.
Today, Barber took limited reps in practice as both Felix Jones and Tashard Choice took most of the first team reps. It is still undecided as to what the Cowboys will do Monday night against the Panthers.
For all you fantasy football players out there (basically everyone), keep an eye on this one. I think it’s general knowledge that if Barber is out, Felix is in…and in big (hopefully because I have him).
