Giants Select WR Ramses Barden At #85

By Anthony De Rosa on Apr 26, 2009, 11:27 am

The Giants traded with the Eagles to move up to the 85th pick. The Giants gave the Eagles their 91st pick in the 3rd round and a 5th round pick (151st overall.)

A very good third round pick by the Giants at #85 overall, Cal Poly wide receiver Ramses Barden is extremely tall, at 6 foot 6, 228 pounds. He’s strong and athletic and can separate well from defenders. He’s not particularly fast, running a 4.55 to 4.60 in the 40 yard dash.

In 2007 he caught 9 passes for 219 yards against Weber State and had 4 TDs. The same year against Idaho State he caught 10 passes for 268 and 3 TDs.

He led the Great West in receiving yards (1,467) receiving TDs (18) and yards per catch (25.7) in earning first-team all-league honors for the third straight season. He was named the co-Offensive Player of the Year in the Great West in 2007.
