Your #29 Pick and New Giants WR: Hakeem Nicks

By Anthony De Rosa on Apr 25, 2009, 8:20 pm

Hakeem Nicks, the wide receiver from North Carolina, was projected anywhere from No. 17 (the Jets) to No. 25 (the Dolphins). The Giants were lucky enough to have him fall into their lap, he was arguably the 3rd best WR in the entire draft.

The 6-foot-1, 212 pound receiver broke 14 school records and has been compared to Anquan Boldin, Michael Irving and Hines Ward. He’s not particularly quick or tall, but he’s strong and has the ability to get open. His hands are so big that Nike had to special order 4XL gloves for him.

There is a concern that he gained 14 pounds immediately after February’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Check out the video below for more on Hicks.
