Sources: Edwards Will Be A Giant

Two sources are telling Yahoo Sports Jason Cole that Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards will be a Giant before the draft.
“The Giants are going to have to up the offer a bit, but [the Browns] are willing to move him,” said one of two sources with knowledge of the talks between the teams.
There have been plenty of rumors and reports of a deal between the Giants and the Browns regarding Edwards but nothing this concrete. Coles goes on to mention the supposed deals that have circulated; Edwards for two picks and Steve Smith and the Giant counter offer of two picks and Domenik Hixon. Coles says his source is telling him it’s just a matter of bridging the gap, this trade will happen:
“The Giants are motivated, they’re trying to win right now,” the aforementioned quoted source said. “Edwards is a bigger guy that [quarterback] Eli [Manning] wants to throw to, like he had with Plaxico. The Giants know they can’t leave Eli with no great receivers. They saw what happened last year.”
Update 4:20 p.m. - Now Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News is reporting that a “NFL source familiar with the situation” is telling him that the Giants and the Browns are indeed talking trade. It appears that the Browns are trying to pry defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka from the Giants in this deal but another source is telling Vacchiano that the Giants refuse to part with him:
The talks are more substantial now than they were, and the source said the Browns appear eager to make a deal…The Giants certainly have a lot to offer, but they may not be willing to deal the one thing that could immediately get the deal done. The Browns are believed to desire defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka. However, one Giants source who would not confirm anything about possible trade talks, said the Giants have no intention of trading the promising 26-year-old end.
Update 5:40 p.m. – Mike Florio of PFT is “hearing” that a Braylon Edwards to the Giants deal is “currently unlikely”. He says that this might be posturing on the Browns end because they would love to “spark an auction for Edwards’ services”.
According to our sources, a trade of Edwards to the Giants won’t happen unless and until the Browns drop their asking price, and Edwards cuts his contractual expectations.

So you guys decided to do it to me again huh? Another Braylon rummor……..this better go some where.
I actually think its a matter of time. It makes too much sense. The only issue is value. The fact that Braylon is a free agent at the end of the year reall helps us. Why give up Kiwi or Smith when Braylon might very well walk.
I think a First and Fourth this year and an Second or Third next year should do the trick. I think this deal will get done in the next few four days.
But this deal needs to happen.
In a perfect world the G-men grab either Nicks or Britt with their 2A pick. Robiskie would not be bad either. I would be cool with an OT at 2A then grab Barden with the third or fourth.
Can’t wait for the draft…….
