A Good Move for Buffalo

by David Jacks on March 8th, 2009 at 12:01 am

As fellow writer Peter Wade reported the Buffalo Bills and Terrell Owens have a agreed on a one year tocontract.

I never thought I would say this about a T.O. signing but…wait for it….. stay with me…..HOOOOOLLLD!!   I think this was a smart move on Buffalo’s part and here is why;

 If T.O. could only find a 1 year contract worth 6.5 million it means he probably wasn’t wanted elsewhere. Which means, if he wants to play after this year, (an assumption I am making) he will have to put up numbers AND more importantly  keep his mouth shut if he wants a new contract. That said (you knew it was coming) only T.O. could realize this AND still mouth off, but I believe it will be easier for him to keep his mouth shut in the smaller market of Buffalo.

 Even if T.O. continues to be a disease in the locker room, its a one and done move.  The combination of Lee Evans and T.O. should help Trent Edwards in his maturation process. If Edwards is ever going to be a true starter in the NFL the Bills will find out this year. Then again T.O. may wake up  and realize he is playing in Buffalo, freak out by week 2, yell at his coaches,  belittle Edwards killing any confidence he has already gained. And now you see why it’s a win win, right?…you see it right? YEEEAAH.. you see it.

    The fact that TO signed with Buffalo this soon in the process for that little money tells me Drew Rosenhaus was lying and he did not have numerous suitors lining up for his client. It seems TO is alienating a lot of NFL franchises. That said, it was impressive he signed so quickly.

    I just dont see the logic for Buffalo though. TO makes sense for a team that feels its one impact WR from winning it all (like the Giants, except not as concerned with chemistry—and no I dont want TO at all). Even with TO, there’s a good chance Buffalo is the worst team in the AFC East. I just dont see what they accomplish in adding him. But whatever, Im sure it’ll be entertaining, as it always is with TO.

    Was that a Braveheart AND a Family Guy reference in one post?!?!? I LOVE IT!!!
    So TO signs with Buffalo and I am very excited we don’t have to play him twice a year anymore but some of me still looks at a one year $6.5 million dollar contract and thinks the Giants could have benefited A LOT from a WR with his skills and ability….If only he wasn’t such a disruptive force for team chemistry.. ::Sigh:: Oh well….

    I would have accepted Gladiator as well, but it most definitely was Braveheart and Family GUY.

    For the record Gladiator is the same movie just redone in another era right…seriously is there any difference…If you point out all the differences I will come out looking very dumb, but you get the idea.

    That said, Family Guy is just an updated version of the simpsons, but at this point it blows its predecesor out of the water.
