The Giants signed Lee Vickers a 6-6, 279-pound tight end. Vickers was with the Baltimore Ravens the last summer but did not make the final cut.
Coach Tom Coughlin had these comments about Vickers
“He converted to tight end and he has good hands. I think we can get some versatility out of him as a blocker and a short-range receiver, but also on special teams. He’s pretty good in the wedge.”
The Giants tried out tight end Ben Troupe today as well, but ultimately decided to pass on him and sign Vickers instead.

I think its a good sign. Depth at TE. Boss isn’t a blocker, Matthew’s isn’t a good receiver. Vickers at least doesn’t tip off a pass to Boss or a run play if Matthew’s was plugged in.
