McNabb’s Yard Vandalized by Cards Fans

...posted by Rich Resch...

According to ESPN.com, Eagles QB Donovan McNabb’s offseason home in Chandler, Arizona was vandalized by a couple of Arizona Cardinals fans in the days leading up to the NFC Championship game. The two fans hung a Cardinals flag in his yard, and left a cardboard box in his driveway with the words “Go Cards” on one side and “Beat Philly” on the other.

Harmless…

However, the fans returned and burned “Go Cards,” “Go Kurt,” and “I heart AZ” in his yard with diesel fuel, causing damages worth $2,000.

Not so harmless. There’s nothing wrong with pulling a prank every now and then, especially when it’s on an Eagles player. But any time fire is involved, I think you need to re-assess your plan.

The story has a happy ending; the Eagles lost the game. And the two pranksters were caught, due to their own incompetence. One of the pranksters failed to remove an address label on the cardboard box they had left in McNabb’s driveway, which led police to his house. The two men were cited for misdemeanor criminal damage, and were also named “Boneheads of the Week” by a New York area blogger.

So in other words McNabb lost a yard without being sacked.
