2010 Pro Bowl to be Played Before Super Bowl

...posted by Rich Resch...

According to ESPN.com, the 2010 Pro Bowl will be played a week before the Super Bowl, instead of the Sunday after. It will be moved from Honolulu to Miami, the site of Super Bowl XLIV.

I like this. The downside is that players from the two Super Bowl teams will not get to attend, but so many players opt not to play anyway. The upside is that now football fans will have something to hold them over during that dreaded week off after the conference championships. It’s still a meaningless game, but I feel that it will work better as an appetizer for the Super Bowl as opposed to an anticlimactic epilogue to the NFL season.

Actually the Super Bowl should be the culmination of the year but it is not an easy decision. Baseball does their thing in the middle of the season however those wussies don’t usually risk injuries by playing in the game.
I agree that many players opt out but without members of the two arguably best teams in football at game time will it still be the showcase it is supposed to be?
Perhaps the league should rename it “Pro Bowl Light.”
(Less filling…)

Good stuff, Mugguy.

If they don’t fix how the players are voted in then i don’t care when they play that crapolla.

I guess you are not happy with 718 Jet players on the team.

Yea, that and the 682 Redskins on the NFC side. I think their kicker missed more filed goals than anyone this year yet he made it, among others from that team.
