Giants Call Joe Horn

By Anthony De Rosa on Dec 17, 2008, 10:24 am

joehornPaul Schwartz on his blog for the New York Post reports that the Giants will work out Joe Horn. Horn is 36, and hasn’t played at all this season after he was cut by the Falcons back in the summer.

The Giants seem desperate to bolster their receiving core with the loss of Plaxico Burress. The past two games have begun to show how much his absence is having on the Giants offense.

Horn, who was once a very good receiver, had a infamous incident against the Giants several years ago. Horn scored a touchdown, ran to the back of the end zone and pulled a cell phone he had planted out of the padding on the goal post. He proceeded to pretend he was making a call.

In 2004, Horn had a career-high 94 catches for 1,399 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Why don’t we see if Keyshawn Johnson wants to leave ESPN while we are at it.

I think that we should have them both in there trying out. I was at the game Sunday and have been watching the team without Plax and it’s sad to say but we don’t have a big-time receiver…

1994? Does that mean 2004? I sure hope so.
