Coughlin Does Jumping Jacks
In a uncharacteristically lighthearted presser, coach Tom Coughlin seemed to be trying to lighten the mood and get his team to stop pressing in preparation for this Sunday night’s NFC showdown with the Carolina Panthers.
Mike Dougherty of the Journal News reports that in response to a question whether the players might be motivated to win this weekend’s game to earn themselves a three week respite from meaningful games, Coughlin stepped back and did a few jumping jacks.
Justin Tuck wasn’t surprised.
“It ain’t the first time we’ve seen him do jumping jacks,” Justin Tuck said. “I mean, he loves what he does. Football is something he’s very passionate about, and he has no problem showing us that. I know he’s known as Commander Tom Coughlin, but he’s a guy who’s very passionate about what he does and he has no problem in terms of showing it toward us.”
I’m hoping we get video of it soon so I can post, I can’t visualize Coughlin doing jumping jacks, or being half as comedic as the description of the press conference sounds.
Coughlin said they are being cautious with Brandon Jacobs and is not yet ready to determine if his star running back will play this weekend.
