Danny Ware is Water

by Rich Resch on December 12th, 2008 at 7:29 pm

According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, 4th string running back Danny Ware refers to himself as “Water,” a reference to the four classic elements “Earth, Air (Wind), Fire and Water” (and obviously a play on the Giants’ current backfield nickname of “Earth, Wind and Fire”).

“I call myself ‘Water.’ I can be slippery and break some tackles. Then again, if I need to run up somebody I can turn into a solid. I can maybe – maybe – evaporate. I’ve got all three qualities.”

A couple weeks ago I suggested that Ware should call himself Water, so it’s obvious that he is an avid reader of this blog. All we need now is for Ruben Droughns to start calling himself “Heart.” With their powers combined, we would have the first ever Captain Planet backfield.

Ware also believes that, with Brandon Jacobs ruled out, he could fill the Ahmad Bradshaw role; a few carries late in the fourth quarter.
