Ross Has Sprained Ankle, Jacobs Is Sore
CB Aaron Ross has a sprained ankle, according to coach Tom Coughlin. Reporters did not have a chance to talk to Ross directly today.
“We’ll see,” coach Tom Coughlin said of Ross’ status. “They’re pretty optimistic today about it, but we have tomorrow and on Wednesday, we’ll be able to tell where we are.”
Coughlin said Brandon Jacobs is “sore.” and that the injury was an “ongoing thing” for Jacobs. Jacobs aggravated the injury he originally suffered against the Seahawks in yesterday’s game when he landed awkwardly after a tackle. Coughlin said Jacobs has had several MRIs but didn’t elaborate.
Jacobs didn’t speak to reporters today but after yesterday’s game said he could have gone back in.
Kevin Dockery would start in place of Ross, rookie Terrell Thomas is the third corner in nickel and blitz situations because of his size.
