I’ll be giving you live game updates here during the game. Feel free to post questions or opinions in the comment section.

12:33 PM : The Giants are running drills down at the goal line as the Eagles have headed back to the locker room. Stadium is still sparse in terms of fans in the stands but should pick up soon.

12:36 PM : The Giants have left the field and headed into the locker room. While you’re getting ready for the game, why not head over to SNY.tv and check out Mike Salfino’s article on how the Eagles desperation for a win could play into today’s game.

12:53 PM : The Eagles have returned and taken their place on the visitor’s sideline, closest to us onn the press box side. The Giants are jumping up and down in the tunnel. I’m getting pretty excited for the game to begin.

12:55 PM : The Giants take the field and the crowd goes wild. There are a few patches of empty seats all around but should fill out completely by game time.

1:00 PM : As I stood for the National Anthem , I noticed Tiki Barber is in the seat right in front of me on the next level!

1:04 PM : Glad i’m in the box, its a 24 degree day down there with the wind chill, the winds are supposed to be around 20 to 25 MPH. I see Brandon Jacobs all wrapped up in some heavy goose down jacket on the sideline. Moss receives the kickoff and takes it to the 28 yard line. Jacobs gains 6 on the first play of the game.

1:05 PM : Penalty on the Eagles, Giants get a first down. Giants pick up 3 on a Jacobs run up the middle on the next play. Face mask penalty adds 15 yards to the run on the next play. Eagles are sloppy, Andy Reid does not look pleased. First and 10 at the Eagles 37.

1:08 PM : 5 yard gain on a pass to Boss. Manningham loses 12 on the next play. 3rd and 17 now at the Eagles 44. Manning tosses it to Moss for 13 yards. 4th and 4, the Giants are going for it. Manning throws a short pass to Hixon that falls out of his hands and the Giants turn it over.

1:12 PM : Eagles take over at the 31, McNabb passes it to Smith for a gain of about 9. On the very next play Westbrook gets leveled by Robbins. Loss of 5. Eagles have to punt, its a bad one that winds up out of bounds at the Giants 35. The Stadium is filled to capacity now and the fans can sense the Giants defense may have a big day.

1:18 PM : Eagles put a stop to the Giants in short order on this drive. Feagles punts it to the 25 and it gets returned to the 29 by Jackson. 41 yard punt for Feagles.

1:21 PM : McNabb passes up the middle to Westbrook, taken down by Pierce and Clark, a gain of 7. Westbrook looks pretty spry, despite nicks and bruises. He takes the ball on the next play as well picking up a first down. End around to DeShaun Jackson looks like a disaster, winds up as a loss of 2 yards, but Jackson almost wound up getting taken down much further back before he was able to dance around the Giants line closing in.

1:25 PM : McNabb avoids a sack from Justin Tuck and runs for a two yard gain. McNabb gets the pass off on the next play just before he’s taken down but thats 4 and 6 and the Eagles will punt to Hixon, who bobbles the ball and manages to secure it, but loses four yards on the play. Giants will take over at their 15.

1:29 PM : I have to keep reminding myself not to yell (I haven’t) in the box, but in my head on the second play of this drive I’m screaming for Ward to bust through the Eagles line. He winds up losing 2 on the play. The Eagles defense has been real solid so far, they end the Giants second consecutive drive before they can even get a first down. Feagles punts it to the 32 and Jackson takes it about 5 yards before he is upended by Clark. 43 yard punt.

1:33 PM : Westbrook picks up 5 on a run and then on the next play McNabb tosses a long pass to Curtis to the 30. The Eagles are beginning to gain momentum on offense. Westbrook loses 1 yard, tackled by Wynn on the next play. 2nd and 11 at the Giants 31.

1:35 PM : 3rd and 11 now, lets see if the Eagles can get the first down. The crowd is very loud now but a flag is thrown which quiets them, encroachment on Robbins of the Giants. 3rd and 6 at the Giants 26 now. Time out called. Akers 51 yard field goal is good. 3-0 Eagles as the 1st quarter ends.

1:41 PM : Moss receives the kick off and takes it 11 yards to the 15. Deep pass by Manning goes right through Hixons hands. Big opportunity blown there. Jacobs takes it for 5, lets see if the Giants can get a first down already. Maning tosses it to the sideline to Toomer, but its over his head. Theres a holding penalty on the Eagles Brown however that gives the Giants a first down.

1:45 PM : Jacobs rips off a nice run on the right side, breaking for 23 yards. The Giants are at their 48. Manning throws an incomplete pass to Hedgecock on the very next play. 2nd and 10.

1:46 PM : Fumble on the Pierce run, but the Giants recover. Picked back up by Diehl. 13 yard gain on the next play on a pass to Hixon. 1st and 10 on the Eagles 33. Giants time of possession 8:11 mins to the Eagles 6:49 in the first quarter.

1:49 PM : Giants run it on 2nd and 3, but Jacobs loses 3 yards. 3rd and 6 at the 29. Manning rolls right and passes it to Toomer but the pass is ruled incomplete as Toomer was out of bounds. Carney lines up for the field goal but it is blocked by the Eagles’ Trent Cole. Cole leaped over the Giants line and stood in front of Carney with his arms raised to knock down the ball. Very impressive athletic move.

1:55 PM : Quick 3 and out for the Eagles, as Westbrook is taken down by Pierce on a four yard gain. Punt to Hixon to the 18, he loses about two yards on the return. 40 yard punt. Giants take over at their 16.

1:59 PM : Quick 3 and out for the Giants as well. Pass intended for Hixon is incomplete on thrid. Feagles seems to get a big boost out of the wind as the ball carries down to the 18 but is returned for about 20. Illegal block in the back by Demps, 10 yard penalty on the Eagles. They will take over at the 23. 61 yard punt, returned 15 yards.

INJURY UPDATE : Giants CB Aaron Ross went into the locker room for x-rays on his ankle.

2:03 PM : McNabb completes a pass to Curtis, taken down by Dockery. 1st and 10 at the 36. Westbrook gains 2 yards on the next play. He hasn’t had a chance to break for a big run all day, the Giants have been able to contain him for the last two games. He does however rip off a 9 yard run for a 1st down to the Eagles 47.

2:07 PM : 3rd and 9 from the Eagles 48, McNabb finds Smith on the left sideline, Kenny Phillips fails to wrap him up and allows the Eagles to get the first down. Kevin Curtis shaken up on the play, he walks off the field a little dazed.

2:11 PM : LJ Smith catches a pass up the middle by McNabb for a big gain, he had a sizable amount of running space and peels off 12 yards. 1st down Eagles at the Giants 30. 2 minute warning stops the clock.

2:14 PM : Hand off to Westbrook who breaks free and takes it to the endzone. 30 yard touchdown run, and the Eagles take a 10-0 lead. Westbrook popped off a Eagles lineman and had a lane that once he hit was able to take off unmolested.

INJURY UPDATE : Eagles WR Kevin Curtis went to the locker room for evaluation with a head injury. His return is questionable.

2:21 PM : 3rd and 3, Manning’s pass intended for Toomer is incomplete. The Giants in danger of getting shut out in the first half here. They go for it on 4th and 3, and Manning’s pass to Smith is dropped. Eagles take over at their 42 with a minute left. Westbrook rips off an 11 yard run. 5 yard penalty on the Giants for delay of game, Pierce gets into a scuffle that doesn’t allowing the ref to set the ball. Frustration is setting in.

2:27 PM : Pass interference at the 30 yard line, Eagles look like they may extend their lead here with at least a field goal. It doesn’t show in the penalties but in the dropped passes and missed tackles, this is the least disciplined game I have seen the Giants play this season.

2:29 PM : WOW! Justin Tuck blocks the field goal and a 71 yard return for a touchdown by Dockery!!! Carney’s extra point is good, the Giants cut into the lead and go into the locker room in a much better mood than a few minutes ago down 10-7.

AT THE HALF : Manning is 5 for 15, with 37 yards. Jacobs has 8 carries for 43, while Ward has 5 for 27. Not much going on for the receivers, with the wind making matters difficult. Hixon has two catches for 13 yards, Moss, Smith and Moss each have one reception for 13, 6, and 5 respectively. The Giants are very lucky to go into the second half down only three. They’ve been kept in check for the most part by the Eagles defense, and the receivers have dropped a number of passes on key plays. The biggest missed catch was by Hixon on a deep pass by Eli Manning that would have likely been a touchdown. The blocked field goal is huge, and gives the Giants a boost going into the second half. Philadelphia will have the wind at their back going into the fourth quarter so its up to the Giants to make things happen here in the third.

INJURY UPDATE: Eagles WR Kevin Curtis will not return due to a concussion.

2:40 PM : Eagles start off the third, and Carney kicks it 59 yards to the 11. Demps takes it 19 yards to the 30.

2:48 PM : 2nd and 6 at the Eagles 35. Pass incomplete, 3rd and 6. McNabb scrambles out it to the left sideline and picks up a first down at the Giants 44. 11 yard gain.

2:52 PM : McNabb takes it himself on 3rd and 1 and picks up the first down. Westbrook gains two on the next play. Eagles at the Giants 34. Westbrook take it 9 yards on the next play, penalty on the Giants is declined. 1st and 10 on the Giants 23. Coughlin cannot be happy about the way the defense is allowing the Eagles to run down the field here with the wind in their face.

2:55 PM : Four yard pass to LJ Smith, 3rd and 3. McNabb’s pass is incomplete to Smith, and they bring out Akers to kick the FG. The snap is high, the Giants get a piece of it and it is well short. The Meadowlands is no place for a kicker today.

2:59 PM : Giants take over at the 22. Jacobs picks up four. He takes it again and picks up five but appears to have twisted his ankle. He hobbles off the field. Hope it isn’t too serious.

3:02 PM : Ward in for Jacobs, picks up 5 on a 3rd and inches. Giants at the 38. Ward again on the next play picks up about one as he can’t find anywhere to go. You can see the wind wipping on Manning’s jersey, he hands it to Ward, who picks up 6. Manning throws it long to the left sideline and out of bounds intended for Hixon. Feagles coming in to punt, fair catch at the 14 by Jackson. 41 yard punt.

3:06 PM : Giants PA system is blasting “Right Now” by Van Halen. The crowd roars trying to get the defense going here. Westbrook picks up seven on the very first play. He takes it again on the next play, tripped up but they bring out the chains to show it was enough for the first down.

3:10 PM : McNabb and Westbrook keep finding ways to extend drives. They’re faced with another 3rd and 1 and appear to have picked up another 1st down with a four yard pass to Westbrook but there is a flag on the play. The penalty is on the Giants, 15 yards for a facemask. Coughlin looks perplexed on the sideline. That ends the third quarter and now the Giants will have to find a way to score with the wind in their face.

3:15 PM : First and 10 at the Giants 39, the Eagles pick up 3. On the next play the ball gets loose but McNabb falls on it. 3rd and 11. Eagles have converted 8 of their last 9 third downs. McNabb finds Westbrook open and he takes it all the way to the end zone for a touchdown. 40 yard pass. Akers extra point attempt is good, 17-7 Eagles.

3:21 PM : Akers kicks it to the end zone, touchback.

4:01 PM : Lost connection here in the press room. Not much praiseworthy on the Giants side between then and now. Giants drop this one 20-14 and a big day for Westbrook who had 131 yards on the ground. The Giants miss a chance here to clinch the NFC East at home. A big must win game for the Eagles, coming into the Meadowlands and beating the Super Bowl champs.

We will try and get you more information about the injuries to Brandon Jacobs and Aaron Ross as they come in.
