It looked like it was tough finding Westbrook behind the line today. What were they doing that allowed them to do that?
He did a great job of being very patient. They have a very big offensive line and he hid behind them. We have to go back to being a gap sound defense. You have to stay in your gaps, everybody has to be accountable and obviously we weren’t accountable enough.

What happened on touchdown catch he had there?
It was man coverage, the quarterback had some time and there was two ways he could go. I chose outside and he ran inside. It was a good run and catch by him. I have to find some sort of way to make that play.

Connections will be made to this and the distractions of this past week. How do you separate that for this team?
That’s the media’s job to worry about that. We’re not worrying about that. Obviously everybody is going to use that as an excuse. It’s not an excuse, the Philadelphia Eagles came ready to play and they made more plays than the New York Giants today.

On his 40 yard touchdown run you had 10 guys in the box and he found that gap up the middle. Was that just simply not gap control?

I don’t know who came out of the gap, we’ll find out tomorrow, but he made a play. That guy made enough plays today for them to win and that was the difference obviously.

Do you feel the events of this past week impacted you?

No.

From a football standpoint they came here on your field and looked like they wanted it more physically….

Physically?

Yes, up front.

I thought they played better.

Nothing different from a scheme standpoint with what they were doing with Westbrook from last time?

I thought we did a good job of handling him, in check. I think he made maybe three runs over 10 yards or seven yards. The rest were mush yards. He was just getting behind that big offensive line and they would just pound ahead for four or five yards. We have to knock them back and we didn’t knock them back today.

They got the push and that’s how he was able to hide back there?

Definitely, the guy is 5’8, 5’9 and he is hiding behind 6’5 guys and they were just pushing forward. You have to get more of a push. If you want to say physical, whatever, it’s what it was. They pushed us.

How do you get the momentum back after this game?

Get ready to play the Dallas Cowboys. How can you not? This was their Super Bowl and they said that. This was a game for us to hopefully win the division and be quiet about that but no it’s not. There’s nothing been lost by this and we a chance next week to do the same we had a chance to do today which we didn’t do.

Did you sense how desperately they wanted this game?

No, I thought we were well prepared throughout the week. We had a good week of practice regardless of what everybody else is going to say and I thought we came out defensively ready to go. I thought our offense moved the ball. We had a field goal blocked and it was just a bad way to start off the game and we kind of rolled over the rest of the game.

Is it difficult to be investigated and then have to play a game?

No.

After the blocked field goal for a touchdown you had a chance to make a statement coming out of the half but they just ran the ball on you….

They did. The whole goal is to start the game with a three and out, end the game with a three and out and start the third quarter with a three and out and we didn’t do that for whatever reason. We’ll find out tomorrow. The Philadelphia Eagles did a great job of executing today.

They converted 12 of 14 third downs out there. What did you see that made it tough for you guys?

They had a lot of third and shorts and we have to do a better job of tackling. Several times we had them wrapped up and they would squeeze through past the first down marker. We have to do a better job tackling and getting off the field.

Are you glad this week is over?

I don’t care about any week. I’m going to get ready for the Cowboys and prepare for Wednesday.
