The NFLPA is planning on filing a grievance against the Giants;
“The NFLPA is still reviewing the actions taken by the New York Giants relating to Plaxico Burress, but we intend to file a grievance challenging those actions,” the NFLPA said in a statement released a few moments ago. “We believe that Burress’ rights have been violated under the CBA.”
His rights were violated? Alright, I realize my working knowledge of the contract situation is sub par, but he had a loaded gun in a club, what in gods name can they be filing a grievance against? And, is anyone else stunned that Plaxico was wearing sweat pants to a club. I think the Giants should be able to suspend him for that alone.
With the probe ongoing, Antonio Pierce is practicing this week and coach Coughlin expects him to play this Sunday.
As reported earlier Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint outside of his house last week. The culprit has yet to be caught.
Last but not least, Eli Manning was named the offensive player of the month. Not bad for a kid, who just one year ago, fans and analysts alike considered a dud. Eli’s numbers in November, 62.8 percent of his passes completed(93 for 148) for 1,036 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. His passer rating was 94.9 and the team went 5-0.
