As much as Giant fans would like to move on, day by day it gets harder. The NY post is reporting that the doctor who treated Plaxico Burress was suspended for failing to alert the police, and signing off on a medical report with a false name. Dr. Josyann Abisaab was mysteriously called into the hospital at 2am, at this point officials are unsure of who called her. The good doctor does not work directly for New York – Cornell Hospital but she is affiliated with the facility.
Ronnie Barnes, the Giants vice president of medical services, told the players to go to New York – Cornell hospital, but he did not tell the officials if he called Dr. Abissab. He did meet the players at the hospital.
No doubt everyone wants this to go away, but it certainly seems to be lingering. If the Giants lose any game, especially this Sunday’s, this incident will be used as the cause by the media. The Gmen have dealt with adversity better then any other team in the last 2 years, and once again they will be put to the test. As Justin Tuck say’s: we like distractions, it focuses us even more: let’s hope he is right.
