Plaxico’s Hammy

...posted by David Jacks...

Ernie Palladino form the Journal News provides us with this post practice update:

Plaxico Burress is dealing with a hamstring injury, but we don’t have a lot of details yet.

He did hang around in the bubble after practice and catch a couple of balls, although the exercise did not require any real movement.

Burress was getting treatment and wasn’t at his locker afterward, so all we have is what Tom Coughlin knows.

Is he going to be OK?

“We will see,” Coughlin said.

When did this problem surface?

“Just now,” Coughlin said. “Overnight and into today.”

Glad we got that all cleared up. Domenik Hixon was back running with the first unit in practice. Again, with a sizable lead in the division, the Giants can afford to rest people if need be. Of course, it’s hard to do that without looking presumptuous.

Brandon Jacobs, Aaron Ross and Chase Blackburn all practiced on a limited basis.

“Nobody was hampered, nobody had to come out,” Coughlin said. “So I would say they did OK.”

Some people think the Giants are better off without Plaxico, many bring up the game against the Seahawks, and his childish attitude. I have to weigh in on this. You’re wrong (I know completely arrogant and condescending, I hate me too), not only is Plax an impossible match up, he draws coverage away from other wideouts and has kept teams from putting 8 in the box on a regular basis. Although, I think that soon may change with the Giants decimating the Ravens D.
