Coughlin talks about McKenzie

...posted by David Jacks...

Just to add to what Mr. Wade reported on the Kareem McKenzie arrest:

Tom Coughlin: “We are aware of the situation with Kareem. I spoke to him this morning. He is extremely remorseful. The legal process will take its course, and the league will handle this matter. Nobody will be harder on Kareem than Kareem himself. He is very conscientious and has been a first-class citizen since he arrived here with our organization.”

Kareem McKenzie: “I spoke with Coach Coughlin and Jerry Reese this morning and expressed my remorse for last night’s situation. I am prepared to deal with the consequences of that situation from both a legal standpoint and as a player in the National Football League.”

Goodell will definitely take a stand, but as Coughlin said, Kareem has always been a model citizen. Against the Ravens, the Giants will need all their lineman in tact, and for now it seems that will be the case.

Did they release he actual BAC?

In my opinion, that is what any punishment should be based on. I’m not condoning drinking and driving, but .08 is alot different than .12.

Even Goodell and Coughlin have probably driven with a .08 before, and I don’t even know if they drink.

As it stands they have only said that he was above the legal limit of .08. According to attorney’s there is no distinction between that and a DWI in terms of alcohol intake. So, Kareem may have blown a .9 or a 3.0 of course if he blew a 3.0 he would also be dead…so that’s probably not the case.
