ESPNews is reporting that the Raiders are on the verge of releasing cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Hall was well on his way to a ProBowl year, registering 48 tackles and intercepting three passes. This comes less than a year after owner Al Davis signed him to a 7yr 70m dollar contract.
Oh, that silly Al Davis..
Listen, I know Hall might be a headcase at times, but he is better than what we currently have playing opposite Corey Webster. The opposition picked on Hall all year playing opposite of stud Nnamdi Asomugha, but Hall was up to the task and was really turning in a phenomenal year. Hey, make they’ll release Gibril Wilson and we can have him back too..

Rob, DeAngelo is skilled, but the odds on the Giants blocking Aaron Ross’s progress is minimal at best. Not to mention the fact that DeAngelo’s me-frist attitude reaks of Cowboy blue. I am sure Jerry Jones is licking his chops, but it is even more likely that he ends up in Washingto or New England.
Remember, it was Webster, not Ross, who was the main concern in the offseason, and he has performed admirably. I find it hard to believe that Jerry Reese would rock the boat with the 3rd ranked defense in the NFL.
I’m certainly no yankees fan, but maybe the Giants need to take a page from their book and get Hall just so their division foes can’t…
