postGame: Giants 35 Cowboys 14

by Rob Harding on November 2nd, 2008 at 8:43 pm

The Giants kept on rolling and obliterated the Cowboys by a score of 35-14 at the Meadowlands today.

The Giants started early, going down the field and scoring on a Kevin Boss TD reception from Eli Manning. Speaking of Eli, he was a little shaky today, but to his credit he had three TD passes, to Boss, Amani Toomer, and Steve Smith. Speaking of Eli, he finished with 147 yards on 16/27 passing.

One of Eli’s mishaps on the day was a interception that was returned by rookie corner Mike Jenkins to the house. Other than this, the Cowboys had an awful game, and looked lifeless from the beginning.

Earth, Wind, and Fire were in full force today as well. Brandon Jacobs rushed for 117 yards on 17 carries, with a TD. Derrick Ward ran for 63 yards on 12 carries, and a TD. Even Ahmad Bradshaw got some work in in the blowout, running for 20 yards on five carries.

The Defense had maybe it’s best game of the year, with four sacks and three interceptions. Justin Tuck continues his Pro Bowl caliber year with 2.5 sacks, giving him 8.5 on the year. Not to be discounted are the efforts of corner Corey Webster, who picked off Brad Johnson twice. Speaking of Johnson, he and Brooks Bollinger went a combined 14/27 for 134 yards and picks. Game balls to the entire defense!

The Giants look to build on today’s win next week, when they travel to Philly to face off against the third place Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Good win. Happy to see they came out fired up and didnt overlook the Cowboys at all. Offense didnt play its best, but they got TDs this week. Not much to complain about really, and that’s becoming the case every week.

As for the INT, is it me or do Burress and Eli have a bunch of miscommunications? Certainly was the case on that pick, and it seems like it happens often with those two. People talk about their chemistry, but I think Eli works better with Smith, Toomer, and Boss in terms of reading their body language.
