The likelyhood of a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl just got a lot less likely.
Tom Brady seriously injured his left knee on Sunday afternoon, and there is wide speculation that he tore his ACL, which likely means season ending surgery.
NFL Network’s Adam Schefter writes that free-agent quarterback and son of Giants great Phil Simms is scheduled to arrive in New England today for a workout and physical. Kansas City and Tennessee have contacted Simms as well.
NFL.com has video of the play Brady incurred the injury on.
“They’re looking at him, doing some tests on him, so I don’t have any information there,” Belichick said, cracking a smile as he added, “doubt anybody’s interested.”
UPDATE 3:12PM – Patriots coach Bill Belichick just said they have not worked out another quarterback, and will “do whats best for their football team” in regards to if they will look to add a third quarterback.
