Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce talked with the media regarding Jets newly acquired quarterback Brett Favre.
“The New York Giants will welcome him to the Big Apple. Smart guys retire and stay retired, with a Super Bowl ring, of course. If you don’t have a ring, it doesn’t make sense to retire, I guess. That’s why he’s coming back.”
Pierce was then informed that Favre won a Super Bowl ring in 1997.
“Yeah, but that was like 20 years ago. I don’t even think they had white gold then.”
