Coughlin Blackmailed Over Fake Tryst

By Anthony De Rosa on Aug 14, 2008, 5:18 pm

A Philadelphia TV station reports that Tom Coughlin was being blackmailed from a man who made up a story about Coughlin having an affair with two women.

NBC10 writes that the man sent letters that were supposed to be from two women who threatened to go public with their tryst unless Coughlin paid between $20,000-$30,000, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The man, Herbert Allen Simpson, allegedly wrote the letters to exact revenge on the women who were former co-workers, and said he never expected the letters to reach Coughlin.

You can’t make this stuff up folks. Actually, according to the story, you can make this stuff up!
