Mushnick Takes On Giants Over PSL

by Anthony De Rosa on June 30th, 2008 at 8:00 am

In the New York Post, Phil Mushnick slams the Giants and Jets over their new policy in the upcoming stadium requiring season ticket holders to purchase personal seat licenses.

Mushnick writes

Imagine if the Jets and Giants were told they had to pay a personal seat license. That in addition to paying to install 82,000 seats in their new ballpark, they had to pay an additional fee on all 82,000 of them in order not to have them removed next season. They would laugh in the faces of the extortionists, maybe even call the cops.

Of course, though, they would never have to confront such an outrage, the kind they’re presenting as a pay-or-get-lost option to their steadiest customers.

Over 90 percent of the upper level seats will have a $1,000 PSL.  Less than 5,000 seats in the lower level will have a $20,000 PSL, which will be the most expensive PSL at the new stadium.  The pricing of the PSLs for the other seats in the new stadium has not been finalized.
